Reminders and automatic cancellation
Chase the customers who forget, and release stock nobody paid for.
A reminder email goes out after a number of hours you choose, and orders nobody ever paid for can cancel themselves and release their stock. Both are off until you switch them on, and customers are shown the deadline on the order page and in their email, so nothing is cancelled without warning.
Setting them up
- Open Indonesian Banks, Reminders.
- Set the hours to wait before the reminder is sent.
- Switch on automatic cancellation and set its own deadline, which should be comfortably later than the reminder.
- Save.
Order of operations
Switch reminders on and watch them for a few days before switching on automatic cancellation. A cancellation without a reminder first is a cancelled order the customer never knew was at risk.
Confirmations pause cancellation
An order whose customer has submitted a payment confirmation is exempt from automatic cancellation for three days. That is a pause rather than a permanent exemption, so stock is still released if the transfer never arrives.
