GDPR Notice
Require a privacy consent checkbox before the WhatsApp button becomes clickable.
The GDPR tab adds a consent checkbox next to the WhatsApp button. The button stays disabled until the visitor ticks it, which gives stores in the EU (and anyone who wants explicit consent) a documented opt-in before a chat starts.
Setup
- Tick Enable GDPR Notice.
- Write the consent message. The placeholder
[gdpr_link]renders a link to the page you pick below, so a message like I agree to the [gdpr_link] and consent to my personal data being processed. links the words to your policy. - Select your Privacy Policy page from the dropdown and save.
The checkbox appears with the single product button and the shortcode buttons. The plugin supplies the mechanics; the wording of lawful consent for your jurisdiction is yours to write.
