Affiliate links

How it works

Each marketplace can carry an affiliate transform, described once and applied to every button for that marketplace. The plugin uses a template rather than one integration per network, so a program changing its URL format is a settings edit rather than a plugin update.

Open a marketplace on the Marketplaces tab and find the Affiliate Links area. Choose a mode, then add one or more rules.

Append and wrap modes

Two modes cover the programs sellers use in practice.

• Append adds query parameters to your product URL. Amazon Associates and eBay Partner Network work this way. A template looks like tag=yourtag-20.
• Wrap rewrites the link into a network deep link with your destination URL encoded inside it. Awin and Involve Asia work this way. A wrap template must start with http and must contain the {url} placeholder, which is replaced with the encoded destination.

Rules and domain matching

Each rule has a match and a template. The match is a domain suffix, and the longest matching rule wins. A rule with an empty match is the default and applies when nothing more specific matches.

That is what lets one Amazon marketplace carry a different tag per storefront. A rule matching amazon.de can use your German tag while the default rule covers everything else. Country-specific links are resolved before the affiliate transform runs, so a German visitor sent to amazon.de receives the German tag automatically.

Presets

The preset dropdown fills in the mode and template for Amazon Associates, eBay Partner Network, Awin and Involve Asia. Replace the placeholder ID with your own.

Disclosure and link attributes

Transformed links automatically receive sponsored and nofollow attributes, which is what search engines ask for on affiliate links. Buttons without an affiliate transform are left alone.

The Display tab has an affiliate disclosure field. Anything you write there renders as a line under the buttons on products that have any button showing.
